Glossy Box - April 2010

Hey guys!

I would just like to begin by saying a huge thank you to everyone who commented and followed! Its nice to know somebody's reading this! Also a huge thank you to my lovely friend Brogan for pointing her lovely followers in my direction!

Onto the Blog! I've been subscribed to Glossy Box for 3 months now, and I think every box has its good and bad's, with 5 items I think its hard to love every product but I think this is definitely one of the better boxes.
This months Glossy Box was the Natural Box, meaning the showcase of the best Organic/Natural products! Which I'm all for because it can't hurt to try something actually good for your body (plus I'm a sucker for a themed anything).

As usual the box looks beautiful and I think their attention to detail is amazing. I didn't wanna touch anything and ruin it! But after the initial excitement of unwrapping I delved in!

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum

This was actually my first Caudalie product and I've heard a lot about them and their always on my list of brands to try out, so I'm quite happy with this product! The only problem was the amount of product I received, I've heard a lot of people saying this, but basically I got a tube of air with a littttttle cream in the bottom, not the best start. But Glossy Box have released a contact email address for this issue, so every cloud has a silver lining.

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Eyeliner

Although I have a gazillion eyeliners I was happy to give this a try due to the fact that it was organic and I was quite interested in seeing if I noticed a difference. To be honest I prefer my current eyeliner. I found, although it was really pigmented and like it claims a creamy consistency, that after a full day of wear it had dragged under my eye and looked a little nasty (although I did apply this at 5am in a mad rush so it may have just been my sleepy sloppy make-up technique).

Monu Enriched Body Cream

Again I've heard a lot of rave about Monu so was pleased to try something new, I think the size is great and its something i can save for when I go away or just pop in my bag, I don't know about the smell, kinda resembles something i'd find in my mums room. But then again she smells good so its not all bad! Overall it leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised which is what I wanted so no complaints!

Figs&Rouge Lip Balm

I think this is defiantly my favourite product, I love the packaging, I think its quirky and definitely stands out against the rest of my lip balms! I thought I wouldn't like the smell as I'm not a fan of peppermint but I surprisingly do. It claims to also be a lip, face & body balm but it works well as just a lip balm. There's kinda a soft gritty texture when you first put it on but it smoothes out easily and leaves my lips lusciously soft!

Phillip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm

This is the one product I haven't tried yet, I wanted to get the review up and had no time to use the product but I'm looking forward to it because my hair needs all the help it can get to go straight! The only problem is the size of the product and the amount of hair I have means i'll probably only get one use out of it but hey ho!

Thank you for reading!

Current Beauty Loves!

I've recently become a bit of a shopaholic, which is never a good thing for your bank balance. So in order for something good to come out of my spending mishaps (other than the sweet satisfaction of having something new to play with) I thought I would share my latest 'loves' The things I'm constantly reaching for and things I feel have changed my skin and body.

1. Bioderma Sensibio.

I think everyone and their mother has heard of Bioderma, but just incase Bioderma is a water based cleanser/make-up remover. It's main ingredient is Water so great for sensitive skin, I've actually only used the product a few times so I don't wanna give it a review just yet. But oh my gosh do i understand the hype! its so gentle and soft, does the job perfectly and to top it off leaves your skin feeling amazingly soft. I was lucky enough to be given this by a colleague of my mums, but I know its easy to get of Ebay for around £9 including P&P.

2. Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector
(All-In-One B.B. Cream)

Boots - £7.49 on special offer

I've recently come back from holiday and my skin tone has changed completely, my foundation was the wrong shade and just left my skin feeling clogged cakey, so I decided to invest in a B.B. cream  I still wanted light coverage to hide any scars and even out my skin tone, but foundations seem so unappealing right now and i kinda got used to embracing a more bare face while I was away. (I know sounds crazy but stay with me) I picked this up from Boots while it was on offer over the weekend and so far I'm loving it! It smells amazing but not in am overpowering perfumed way, just nicely scented. It gave me just the right amount of coverage, hiding any little nasties but still leaving your skin feeling nice and light.

3. Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil

Boots but I can't remember the price!

A few months ago my hair hit the 'point of no return' the ends where awful, it was dry and refused to comply with my demands. I have thick naturally curly hair (thanks to my African roots) which I do have chemically straightened, this plus the constant blowdrying and straightening left my hair begging for mercy. I completely updated my hair care routine, got rid of the nasty chemicals and added Argan oil. I wasn't ready to splash out on Moroccan oil so instead I bought Organix much cheaper version from Boots, and I love it! My hair has never been in such good condition. I apply it to the ends of my hair after i've washed it and sometimes if its feeling really dry during the week, and it just makes it feel so great! I have so few split ends I started to doubt my eye site. I would recommend to anyone debating on splurging on Moroccan oil to at least give this a try. Its a fraction of the price and does exactly what I need it to do!

4. Bio-Oil PurCellin Oil

Tesco - £7.79

When I was younger all the way up until i was about 12ish i was a right shorty, it never bothered me but apparently my body disagreed and decided to go through a huuuuge growth spurt over a very short space of time. Although I'm now an average height I've been left with stretch marks on the top of my thighs, I hoped they would fade with time but alas no, and so I've turned to Bio-Oil the only thing i regret is not doing this sooner! I've been using the product twice daily rubbing it into the problem areas for about 2-3 weeks and I can already see the difference! I know Bio-oil doesn't work for everyone and some people can't stand it but I think its worth a mention, It's faded some stretch marks so they are practically gone and the rest all are a lot less visible, which is something i thought would never happen. Such a brilliant product that you can pick up from just about anywhere!

Thank you if you made it this far!
